Current strengths and weaknesses of the Microsoft company Assignment
Current strengths and weaknesses of the Microsoft company - Assignment Example Communication and innovation is not prioritized within the organization. Despite the popularity of handheld devices, the demand for computers in the united sates and across the world continues to grow. In this regard, it is realized that the future prospects for the organization are still good. Apple and Linux certainly threaten the large market share presently held by Microsoft. Indeed, the popularity of the products from these manufacturers continues to grow and there is a strong indication that Microsoft cannot continue to hold the 88% market share (Phelps, 38). Fluctuations in the exchange rates across the world greatly affect the demand for the software in certain countries. The fluctuating currencies greatly affect revenues from the organization especially in the international markets. It is presently realized that some hardware manufacturers like Oracle, Sun manufacturers, and IBM have collaborated with new platform technologies thereby greatly reducing the demand for windows (Stross, 45). In the same way, some of the hard ware manufacturers issue software application with their hardware sales. This means that Microsoftââ¬â¢s products do not apply in such

Origins and Principal Teachings of the Sacred Scriptures of Judiasm Essay
Origins and Principal Teachings of the Sacred Scriptures of Judiasm - Essay Example Sinaiâ⬠(Robinson, pp. 50-59). Judaism is a belief grounded within the sacred, moral, as well as communal regulations as they are expressed in the ââ¬ËTorahââ¬â¢. Jews talk about the Bible as the ââ¬ËTanakhââ¬â¢, an acronym for the wordings of the ââ¬ËTorah, Prophets, as well as Writingsââ¬â¢. Other holy texts consist of the ââ¬ËTalmudââ¬â¢ and ââ¬ËMidrashââ¬â¢, the rabbinic, officially permitted, and narrative understandings of the Torah. The modern subdivisions of Judaism fluctuate on their understandings as well as functions of these texts (Robinson, p. 99). The four most important activities within Judaism these days are conventional, traditionalist, transformation, and Reconstructionist, respectively ranging from conventional to moderate to faithfully progressive within their use of Torah. Though varied in their outlooks, Jews carry on to be integrated on the foundation of their common association to a set of holy accounts communicating their a ssociation with deity as a sacred people. Judaism tends to highlight practice on faith. Jewish reverence is centered in synagogues, which totally substituted the Second place of worship following its devastation during 70 C.E. Jewish spiritual leaders are known as rabbis, who supervise the several customs and rituals necessary to Jewish spiritual practice. ââ¬Å"The Jews are not a raceâ⬠(Robinson, p. 392), because they include inhabitants of all colors and ethnic kinds. Jews determine the issue of classification by depicting themselves as citizens, with uniqueness, which includes components together with religious conviction, traditions, language and historical recollection. It follows that Judaism is more than a belief or a faith system. It might best be explained as a sacred way of life, beginning in the historical description of the Jewish citizens. In this sense, ââ¬Å"Jews perceive themselves as a family unit, tracing their beginnings to the ââ¬ËBiblical Patriarchsâ â¬â¢, usually dated as 1900 BCE (Before the Common Era)â⬠(Robinson, pp. 190-215). As they travelled all over the world, the Jewish inhabitants carried with them particular religious as well as ethical standards, brilliant writing and a sense of ongoing history - the belief recognized as Judaism. Jews have faith in a single God who has no form or shape, who is both the maker as well as the ruler of the universe, and who lays down an ethical rule for humankind. In particular, ââ¬Å"the conventional view of Jewish beginnings is founded on the patriarchal accounts found in the Hebrew Bibleâ⬠(Solomon, p. 50-56). These accounts reveal an effort by the early Israelites, the antecedents of the Jewish inhabitants, to trace the origin of their population to single family unit that started to discriminate itself from those of other early cultures by the respect of one God. Even though these texts were written more or less a thousand years subsequent to the incidents explained, t hey are a consequence of the allegories linked with the historical origins of what people passed down verbally through the generations. Jews outline their descent, in addition to the origins of their religious conviction, to the ââ¬Å"Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacobâ⬠(Robinson, p. 283). The liberation of the Jews in Europe during the 19th century led to the growth of ââ¬ËProgressive Judaismââ¬â¢, mainly within Germany, which wanted to settle in Jewish rule and

Stereotyping of Hispanics in Hollywoods Films Essay -- Movies Films E
Stereotyping of Hispanics in Hollywood's Films "[Cinema] manipulates the human psychology, sociology, religion, and morality of the people..."(Cine-Aztlan 175). I has been said to be used by capitalists and socialists as a powerful weapon in the struggle for social justice. In all the Hollywood films and documentaries about Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, none have escapes stereotypes. And it hasn't gone unnoticed. Thomas Martinez states that the "symbolic function of advertising in one level of understanding the racist implications of the mass media, especially regarding the Mexicans and Mexican-Americans"(Camplis, in Noriega 284). To completely understand Latino's struggle for liberation, the term "Raza" has come up repeatedly in the vocabulary for freedom on an encompassing scale. The term is used to incorporate the experiences of Native Americans, Mexicans and others of Latin American descent in this country in the search and struggle for liberation politically, philosophically, and aesthetically. Another term recognizable in the struggle for liberation is "Chicano", which represents the need for people of Mexican descent to come to grips with the elemental fact of their identity..."(Camplis, in Noriega 286). Chicanos and other Latin Americans all have a distinct culture that shouldn't have to be conformed to or assimilated with American "standards". So, Cubans took a different approach to the whole notion of change or be segregated. Cuba...

Vice President for Information Technology and CIO at Radford University
September 19th, 2018, Mr. Danny M. Kemp spoke to our Enterprise Information Architecture class. Mr. Kemp is the Vice President for Information Technology and CIO at Radford University. He began by discussing his past experiences that led him to where he is now and what his responsibilities are. I am so glad that Dr. Pittges arranged Mr. Kemp as a guest speaker for us. Being an IT student myself, I am quite familiar with the rapid advancement of technologies over the past few decades and how it has been a challenge to the IT strategist to follow the latest trend and perform the business functionalities. We have the Division of Information Technology at Radford University, which is also responsible for fulfilling the technological needs of the faculty, students, and staffs. I think it must be really challenging to manage the entire division of IT. It was a great experience to hear from the man, Mr. Kemp, who is the person behind the scene for managing the Department of the IT. I was grateful when Mr. Kemp, who had been serving as a member of the President's executive cabinet, was sharing his experience. I was more surprised when he stated that he was responsible for providing vision, leadership, coordination and strategic planning for all the aspects of Information Technology at Radford University. It is quite amazing to learn how a person could manage several functionalities at the same time. I also learned that it is important to have a better understanding of technology trends that are applicable to client's business. I also realized that we need to keep a better articulation of tasks, deliverables, timelines and resources needed for any system. What I absorbed from Mr. Kemp's presentation is that we first need to develop some strategies and then only we should oversee the planning, evaluation, deployment and operation of the systems. The systems include areas such as IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, technology support services, web and mobile technologies, printing services, information security, electronic engineering and communication services, IT planning, policy and compliance, and IT project management. Every word he spoke felt like a word of wisdom to me. On the other hand, I was also quite happy to know his concerns regarding the security of the data of all the people directly and indirectly related to the university. It felt good when I knew that Duo ââ¬â the two-factor authentication, which enhances security by adding a second layer of authentication to the login is also being implemented under his administration. I was personally very impressed by Mr. Kemp's presentation. He was very organized and very well informed about all the materials he was presenting. I strongly agree with Mr. Kemp's view on developing the strategies first for any business before trying to implement the planning and deployment. His presentation has affected me in a positive way. I am looking forward for the next guest speaker.

Social Media Has Changed The Way That People Interact
Social media has changed the way that people interact; instead of relying on phone calls and face-to-face conversations, people can easily send information to 500 of their closest friends. However, social media has also made it much easier and even expected to lie, or pretend to be someone else. These lies can range from the creation of new personas to prey on others to minor exaggerations to gain popularity. Both of these discrepancies between appearance and reality are harmful, and in some cases can lead to similar consequences. When most people think of duality on social media, their first thought is Kim Kardashianââ¬â¢s highly photoshopped Instagram feed. While the pictures from her champagne glass photo shoot demonstrate the discrepancy between appearance and reality on the internet, this societal issue runs deeper than Ms. Kardashianââ¬â¢s publicity stunt. While some use social media as a means of self-promotion, and a way to document their every move, others take full advantage of the anonymity that these sites can provide, and use social media to do serious damage. Social media sites like Facebook and various internet chat rooms provide people with an easy way to connect with one another. These sites make it easy for one to connect with friends, but can just as easily be infiltrated by strangers with sinister motives. The creation of fake social media identities has become more common, and both scam artists and pedophiles use this technique. Terrorism A Defining Moment in Our Recent History
As an American living in the 21st century, terrorism has been a defining moment in our recent history. It has shaped the foreign policies of many nations, changed the way society has viewed violence and created debates about national security. Yet, it is only recently that terrorism has gone global. The history of terrorism is rooted in its use by revolutionaries and governments, its influence on domestic affairs and the various methods used to instill fear and control. But since the end of the Cold War and more importantly after September 11, 2001, terrorism has been used by organizations to exert political and extreme religious agendas across the globe using new tactics with the advancement of technology The end result of World War I created revolutionary groups that would start the terrorism of the ââ¬Å"revolutionary party.â⬠The two most important groups were called the Bolsheviks in Russia and the Nazis in Germany.
